Introduction

In a galaxy not so far away (actually it's in the 'Star Wars' universe, in case you were wondering), 2019's 'Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order' lands on PS5 like a Jedi tumbling out of a ship in mid-flight, ready to battle stormtroopers and possibly give us the most meaningful lightsaber experiences since... well, since like ever! Let's light it up and take a deep dive into this action-packed escapade where you'll not only wield a lightsaber but also likely contemplate your life choices as you try to dodge a million inquisitors on your quest to restore the Jedi Order.

Gameplay

You play as Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan in hiding from the Galactic Empire and their loveably incompetent but not-so-affectionate stormtroopers. One minute you're scratching your head over puzzle-solving with your droid companion, BD-1, who has more personality than some of my friends, and the next you're unleashing serious Force powers and slicing through enemies like they're cantina snacks. The combat takes inspiration from the 'Souls' genre, requiring a mix of skill and timing to master - blocking just before getting hit is crucial; otherwise, say hello to your respawn point and goodbye to precious experience points! Thankfully, the game offers plenty of Force powers, new skills, and incredible lightsaber combat that grows progressively difficult, ultimately giving you plenty to work towards.

Graphics

On the PS5, Fallen Order looks stunning. Seriously, the art department at Respawn seems like they had a field day with a full color palette and the freedom to unleash their creativity! The environments pop, characters are detailed to the nines, and the lightsaber effects will have you feeling like a true Jedi Knight (or at least an overly enthusiastic cosplayer at Comic-Con). The loading times are practically non-existent, allowing you to jump from one breathtaking moment to another quicker than you can say, "May the Force be with you!" The upgraded graphics on PS5 sparkle, with intricate details across planets and characters. It's an absolute feast for the eyes and the cinematic quality is rich enough to make you feel like you're in the middle of an epic Star Wars film.

Conclusion

To wrap it all up, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on the PS5 is more than just a game; it's an experience that pulls you into the Star Wars universe like a tractor beam. It brilliantly combines exploration with meaningful storytelling and combat mechanics that keep you engaged throughout your journey. It's not every day we get a game that delicately weaves fan service with innovation, making it a must-play for pros and padawans alike. Now, get out there and show that Empire who's boss while basking in the glory of your lightsaber skills. This one ranks high on the Jedi Council's list of must-tries! May the Force be with you, always!
