Introduction

Remember the late '90s? When the biggest decision you had to make was whether to play the latest PS1 game or finish your math homework? Well, say hello to Juggernaut, a game that will make you question all your life choices-not because it's the best game ever, but because you might wonder how on Earth it got made. Let's dive in!

Gameplay

Playing Juggernaut is a bit like visiting an old haunted mansion where everything is slightly off. You control a nameless dude who decides to venture into his demon-possessed girlfriend Sarah's brain. Sounds romantic, right? As you navigate her mind (which resembles a creepy mansion rather than, say, a quaint café), you'll engage in the riveting activities of item collection and puzzle solving. Who doesn't want to rummage through their beloved's psyche? Your character can only move where the compass points, and the collection of items involves a cursor that spins when you're near something interesting. Ever felt like you were stuck in a connection-free Wi-Fi zone? That's what this feels like! You can transform into various bodily forms to access areas. Apparently, Sarah's mind needs more types of bodies than a Halloween party-appropriate, given the twisted nature of the story. There are weapons and timed challenges too. Like dodging attacks or re-shedding your mortal body-no pressure there! Fail any of these, and you might as well jump straight back to the start, as if you were playing a motel game of Monopoly. The various environments include a prison island and cyberspace. Who thought putting prisons and cyberspace in the same game was a good idea? It's like mixing peanut butter with vinegar-a confusing combination, yet here we are.

Graphics

Now let's tackle the visuals, or as I like to call them, the 'charitable interpretation of 1999's standards.' Picture grainy full-motion videos that make you feel like you're watching a VHS tape your grandparents left in the attic. Sure, some might call it nostalgia; others might call it bad manners. The graphics make you wonder if the designers were told to just take whatever assets they could find on the floor of a discount animation studio. The color palette? Think of it as someone mishandling their vibrant crayons-some bright spots mixed with the dull hues of impending doom.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Juggernaut is like that band you loved in high school but realized was just a phase. It has some interesting ideas but fails to live up to the popularity of its peers (you know, like Myst). The concept could have made for a captivating experience, but the execution leaves much to be desired. If you're a PS1 completionist or enjoy diving into the quirks of gaming history, give it a whirl. Just don't have high expectations-after all, Juggernaut is a reminder that sometimes, love really does hurt, especially if it's tucked away in a poorly executed video game from the 90s.
