Introduction

If you ever dreamed of stomping through the jungle dodging velociraptors while trying to figure out why you haven't seen the last boat, Jurassic Park: The Game offers you just that-a chance to relive those nail-biting tensions from the 1993 classic film, albeit in a minefield of Quick Time Events (QTEs) more frequent than a T. rex sighting. Buckle up, folks, it's going to be a wild ride, just hopefully with fewer screams for help.

Gameplay

Set on Isla Nublar, the game kicks off with a delightful tour by Dr. Gerry Harding, who apparently missed the memo about 'dinosaurs gone wild.' His teenage daughter, Jess, accompanies him, triggering every dad's nightmare: teenage rebellion mixed with prehistoric chaos. Instead of regular boring puzzles, expect to quick-time your way through heroic antics, like darting from dilophosaur attacks or dealing with some seriously dubious merc-deals involving dinosaur embryos. But don't worry, they're just quick-time events, so it's not like you'll solve a Rubik's cube or anything that mentally taxing. The story unfolds over four episodes to keep your engagement levels dangerously close to 'I can't deal with this right now.'

Graphics

Let's talk graphics. Picture the stunning visuals of Jurassic Park, and then imagine if they borrowed some CGI from a 90s sitcom. Telltale's unique art style has its charm, but saying it's top-notch would be like saying a T. rex is clearly the best at being a vegetarian-let's just say there's a bit of a disconnect between your expectations and reality. The dinosaurs, bless them, seem to lumber around as if they just stepped out of their break room rather than out for a late-night snack. But hey, at least it's less intense than waking up next to a triceratops with morning breath, right?

Conclusion

In the grand scheme of things, Jurassic Park: The Game is like trying to avoid stepping in dino dung while navigating through a jungle full of bad decision-making. While you may not marvel at the graphics or revel in intricate puzzles, it does deliver an engaging narrative wrapped in a nostalgic bow for fans of the franchise. Ultimately, if you enjoy a story-driven experience and can tolerate the often frustrating quick-time events, give it a whirl. Just don't expect to walk away singing the 'Jurassic Park' theme. Instead, it's more of a quick mumbled tune, likely because you almost got your face eaten off by a raptor. Grab your controller and prepare for a ride that's more 'meh' than 'wow'-and remember, life, uh, finds a way... of being somewhat disappointing.
