Introduction

Ah, the life of an assassin, where every day is a chance to dress stylishly and cause a little chaos-preferably without being caught. But somehow, this all has to happen on a device that looks like it could survive an accidental dunk in some nacho cheese. Welcome to Hitman 3: Cloud Version on Nintendo Switch, where the graphics are as high as your internet speed... or should I say, *low*?

Gameplay

In this exciting blend of stealth and strategy, you're once again stepping into the well-pressed shoes of Agent 47. The gameplay centers around your ability to disguise yourself and eliminate targets in creative ways, although I wouldn't recommend dressing as a giant chicken unless you want to raise some eyebrows. Instead, you'll want to identify disguises and stealthily navigate through sprawling maps featuring intricately designed environments like Dubai skyscrapers and an eerie Dartmoor mansion. Each mission pushes you towards creative assassinations with options aplenty. You get to stab a few unsuspecting targets, maybe drop a chandelier, and even instigate some *accidental* deaths. They say it's all fun and games until you accidentally nail your target with a throw from a practical joke toy... but it's even better when you walk away like nothing happened. With the addition of persistent shortcuts and various eliminations styles, the game is designed to insist you play it time and time again. The more you play, the more mastery you achieve, which is just a fancy way of saying you become a better killer. In Cloud Version, however, you'll be relying on Wi-Fi more than you may like-let's hope your connection is sturdier than your last relationship! The game features classic modes-like 'Elusive Targets', which are available for a limited time only. That's right; no ruining this commitment level! You have to stay sharp, or else you can say goodbye to a once-in-a-lifetime kill. Not to add pressure or anything, but when your target's reputation is on the line, you'll want to *really* nail it-emphasis on nail, as in killing your targets. Maybe I need to work on my metaphors.

Graphics

The visuals of Hitman 3: Cloud Version are basically a testament to the power of perspective... provided you're not abruptly reminded that you're on a portable console. The game looks fantastic at first glance, with vibrant environments and richly detailed locations, but when you squint at those textures in detail? Yeah, let's say they're not winning any awards-unless it's for hiding behind pixelated walls. Of course, if graphics were all that mattered, I wouldn't still play those retro 8-bit games every other weekend at my buddy's house. But alas, transitions into the real world (a.k.a. your Wi-Fi connection) can make the otherwise sleeker visuals look like they were drawn by a toddler having a bad day. Still, it's manageably playable-unless it's your first game of the day and the router hasn't had its coffee yet.

Conclusion

Hitman 3: Cloud Version offers an absorbing experience that looks and feels familiar, and, despite the quirks of cloud gaming on Switch, it's still a compelling entry into the franchise. Sure, you may curse your Wi-Fi connection from time to time, but it's all part of the fun! The real question, however, is: do you want the opportunity to metaphorically dress up like a guard and stab a corporate executive while trying to maintain some semblance of class? If your answer is yes, we're definitely on the same frequency. I'll meet you at the nearest pub-because that's how these assassin contracts roll out, right? Four assassins in a bar, plotting their next mission. What could possibly go wrong?
